The glourious history of Wilson metal detectors - Letter of the president Wilson
| Dear Mr.
Stefano
Dec. 15/05
My interest first started in magnetometers& metal detectors in the 60/s while living at Daytona Beach in Florida. Then started manufacturing metal detectors around 1970, the first being a Tr detector with a box about 15 inches long. Then formed a pertnership with Chuk Neuman in Delphos Ohio. Together with 35 emplyes working two shifts we produced the detectors for resale that I had first invented here in South Bend. We worked together making about 20 different models until his health became poor, then I resumed the operations in 1985 here in South Bend. The total number of models detectors that I have made is around 50. Now with this 6 position Discriminator Coin Select, it is like having 6 different detectors in one. The #1 Reads All Metals The #2 Does not read nails or small iron, but can still read a dime The #3 Does not read tin-foil, ideal for school yards, or salt beaches The #4 Does not read tabs, will read coins The #5 Does non read zinc pennies The #6 Does not read Zinc or Copper pennies, but can read 25 cent coins, and nor read alluminium pop or beer cans. Sincerely, Paul Wilson |
